4.0 out of five stars, FRUSTRATING AT TIMES BUT A TRUE STORY, by W.E. EVANS "TRAINWRECK"

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE RATED THIS BOOK. IF AMAZON ISN'T POSTING THE REVIEWS I SUBMIT TO THEM THEN THEY ARE DOING A DIS-SERVICE TO THE SELLER AND ME. MY REVIEW SAID I SERVED IN THE SAME THEATER OF OPERATIONS AND AM FAMILIAR WITH MANY OF THE OPERATIONS/INCIDENTS MULLDUNE DESCRIBES IN HIS WRITINGS. ALTHOUGH HIS WRITINGS ARE CRUDE AND AT TIMES DOWN RIGHT VULGAR, I ASSURE YOU HE SAID VERY LITTLE THAT I FOUND UNBELIEVABLE. YES, I WAS A MARINE SERVING IN "I CORPS" FROM MID MAY 1968 TO JUNE 1969. I SAID DAVID "WELCOME HOME MARINE, GLAD YOU MADE IT!" SEMPER FI

5.0 out of five stars, Love the raw details that only a man that served... by Heather Brashearon,

Love the raw details that only a man that served in the bush day in & day out could give!

5.0 out of 5 stars, when I asked my friend "Benji" what things were like He just would not answer me, by Carolee "Carole R"

I so very much appreciate David's effort and success to write down his experiences not holding back on his true emotions. It was in fact the 1. thing that struck me while I was reading. The raw and honest emotions surfacing here. The writer obviously was not afraid to express all of what he and so many of his comrades felt. All this in addition to the answers of many, many questions I had about this war. The book is a treasure of valuable information that simply is nowhere else to be found. These.. at that time very young men had a very life changing situation to endure. All of them need and deserve our compassion and help. Many of them do not talk about what happened to them, this I know from experience. There was only silence, when I asked my friend " Benji" what things were like. He just would not answer me. David filled all the blank spaces I had in my mind.

Our country needs discernment and honest leaders. Our young people are our future and treasure, our leaders must look out for them and always shield and protect them. God keep and bless those who were hurt physically and mentally. May there be a great healing yet to come for those who suffered greatly!

5.0 out of five stars, Explicitly written by a grunt, but factual narration, by Ed

I did enjoy this book, even though it brought back good...and bad memories. Though the dialect is harsh, I would recommend this as a good read. This review is by a fellow Vietnam vet that walked through Hell, and came back.

5.0 out of five stars, More as it was, by Bill Holmeson

Good Read. Telling it like it was and not so politically correct. I was in the Far East in these times and met up with these Guys from time to time and talked to them about Nam. This Dude paints a truer version than a lot of the books that have been written about that conflict.

5.0 out of five stars, No messing, straight to the point by_spc_

I've read a few Vietnam memoirs of late. The last one I read was really light on graphical detail and I didn't get a sense of what it must have been like to struggle through a horrendous conflict. This one got me back to that sense of realism, and I also enjoyed the direct, no-nonsense (almost unstructured) journal style of writing.

4.0 out of five stars, A gritty Jungle war, by Ingrid Horowitzon

A seemingly realistic view of the rigors of Marine Basic Training and the grueling, sweaty horror of going out on patrol in Vietnam during the late 1960s.

5.0 out of 5 stars, eye opener

Even though I was about 14 at the time, I didn't have a clue about the politics of this war...I should have, this book was such an eye opener for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars, Great read, the Marines are a tough bunch, by Jmsjeanne

I was 13 or 14 at the time period this book was written...I sure wished I d have paid more attention to the politics back then! Great read, the Marines are a tough bunch!!

5.0 out of 5 stars, A truly amazing book, by MR E. JACKSON

It's hard to believe that this war took place during my lifetime and not realising the horror that this book reveals. Heartfelt thanks from someone who was the same age as the author, but came from the other side of the pond, therefore had no obligation to serve in Vietnam. Was it worth it? I doubt it. All those young lives lost, for what.

4.0 out of 5 stars, Four Stars, by Mr. R. Bellerby "Roy"  (England) (REAL NAME)

An excellent yarn.

5.0 out of 5 stars, Sad, frightening, by hennies

Raw, sad, frightening, and in your face... Straight to the point true and honest account of “one boy to man story in Vietnam." No fussy writing just written as it was.
